In each of the last three years, TRSA’s Tech/Plant Summit has consistently benefited from significant increases in attendance, including a 47% spike for the 2007 Summit in Atlanta. For 2008, the event is again on track to host more members of the industry than in years before.
More than 150 have already signed up for the 2008 TRSA/Plant Summit, Feb. 26-28, in Dallas. With the early-bird registration period ending Dec. 23, dozens more are expected to sign up this week to capitalize on the $40/per registrant savings.
Operators, including many who have attended past Summits, are signing up for several reasons. First, the 2 ½-day Summit is packed with value. This year, attendees will be able to participate in more than 22 educational sessions on topics that are directly affecting operations today; they’ll also take back to their plants presentation materials. The agenda includes several sessions on improving plant safety, as well as other classes on increasing productivity, enhancing energy efficiency, and conserving water, among other topics. Please see the attached agenda for a complete program of sessions.
There are also four plant tours that TRSA will host on Feb. 27. Attendees will have the opportunity to see garment laundering at ARAMARK’s Dallas facility; healthcare processing at both North Texas Health Care Laundry, Grand Prairie, TX; and HCA of North Texas, Coppell, TX; plus mixed-plant operations at Admiral Linen and Uniform Service in Fort Worth.
The Summit’s annual Trade Fair and Reception will also be held on Feb. 27. Last year, more than 70 vendors were on hand to showcase their innovative products and solutions. The Trade Fair has been extended and the reception will begin in the exhibit’s last hour. Vendor companies receive a free display table with their paid registration.
Registration fees are $499 for first member attendees and $449 for each additional registrant during the early-bird period, but increases to $539 and $489 respectively after Dec. 23. Operators can take advantage of additional savings when they sign up four or more total attendees – $389 for each additional member attendee under the early-bird rate. Three full breakfasts, two lunches, endless breaks and the reception are included in the registration fee.
Because of the already high attendance, TRSA’s Summit room block is selling out at the Hilton DFW Lakes. There is a group rate of $184/night plus taxes available to attendees by calling 800/984-1344 and referencing “TRSA Tech/Plant Summit.” The Hilton also will host the educational sessions, in its state-of-the-art conference center, meaning no traveling between the hotel and conference center this year. The room rate includes wireless or wired Internet access.
Free ground transportation is available between DFW International Airport and the Hilton DFW Lakes. To register, see the attached form or contact TRSA at 877/770-9274.
